error loading directory

Post by MikeKay »

Greetings. I have setup FTP numerous times, but this time I am having a problem. I believe the problem is on the server I am trying to connect to, but I am unsure how to fix it.

The box is running Windows Server 2008 Standard. I have created three users, added them to an FTPUSERS group - then given permission to that group to access the directory I want to FTP to.

I am running IIS7, with FTP enabled. It looks to be configured properly, but again, I'm not 100% sure.

I also have the port on the firewall opened and forwarded to the correct IP address of the box. The port on the box is opened as well. I did a port scan to confirm this.

When I try to connect I get the following error message.

01 Server cannot accept argument.
PORT command failed
Error loading directory...

I am not using port 21 - I am using a higher port number and this is configured in the FTP settings on the box.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Well that's it for Core FTP. The value of open source is as good as the support in the forms - and if I can't get help, then the software is useless.

I will uninstall it and say farewell.
