Which format for Site Name field

Hi; I originally posted this in another forum, but realised that maybe it should be in this one...

I'm very new to Core FTP (FTP in general), and I'm not sure how you specify the site name in the Site Name field. Can this be almost anything descriptive of the site, can this include spaces, etc, or is there a certain syntax/format that must be used?

Also, I'm not sure which to enter for the Host/IP/URL field. Can it be any one of these, or must it be all three sepparated by commas or something? The hosting provider has only given an IP address...

Try this:

If your server has a name put it in the "Site Name" box.

In the "Host/IP/URL" box type ftp://(type IP address of your server here) with no parenthisis. For example ftp://xxx.xxx.x.x

User Name and Password.

maker sure your port is correct

verify that there is a check mark in the PASV box.
