can't ftp to root of server

Post by moonslice »

I'm using ssh to ftp to root of a server, but it keeps automatically going to /web/root instead of to root directly. (from root, there is a /web but i don't want that - i want /usr/local/apache.

i can't figure out how to make it go directly to root and then put folder '/usr/local/apache'.

i've not had this problem with other ftp software.

any ideas how to get this working?

thanks!

I had already tried that, but that won't work because it is first going to /web/root.

So when i put it /usr/local/apache in the advanced 'folder' option, it goes to /web/root/usr/local/apache, which doesn't exist.

i need it to go to the direct from root '/usr/local/apache'.

i have no idea why it automatically goes to /web on its own. That is the folder that has all the websites in it, btw.

again, this is not an issue with other ftp software - when i use ssh and sign in as 'root' user, the other software does correctly go to the root of the server - then i can add any subfolder i want after that.

Thanks,

correct. it didn't help. if you think it should, i could re-install the software and try again, but i'm 99.9% sure i did it already.
