But just prior to that message is a list of HELP commands... are you saying that is also for the server I am connected to? Doesn't make sense that I would click on HELP to get HELP with Core FTP as that is what I was assumming it would be related to....CP wrote:That is a message from the FTP server. Whichever server software the server is using that you are connected to, is sending that message.
Understand... perhaps a blurb prior to the listing of the help commands indicating it is HELP for commands frm the SERVER... and/or chnaging the HELP button to somehting else that would be more informative as to the help being supplied...CP wrote:That help command being issued to the server to show the list of supported commands that the FTP server supports (as well as other server related information, it's pretty vague what the requirements for FTP server help are). It's been this way as far back as I can remember. What you are seeing in the log is mostly the FTP server's communication back to you, it's basically there for users who have used command line ftp for many years, and need or like to see that information.
FTP can be confusing in general, but with most Windows applications, hitting F1 in any window will usually bring up context sensitive help for the current window/screen you are in.
