Core FTP will not recognize my local drive & files

Post by cbrown01 »

I just installed Core FTP Lite (on Win XP) and the default directory upon startup is the C:/ drive. On the left of the screen is my file list for this local directory. For one thing, if I double click on a file listed, nothing is selected and/or highlighted. I also cannot change directories. I am attempting to access a removeable flash drive (F:) but cannot get any list other than C:/ to appear. Going to the directory tree and selecting F: does nothing. Also clicking on the "up one directory" icon does nothing. It gives no error messages or any indication anything is wrong. It is as if the program does not respond to clicks on anything on the local directory tree. Refresh also does nothing.

Whats up with this?

Thanks,

Casey

Clicking on the drives/folders button also has no effect. I'm not sure which way the directory slash shows up (I'm at another machine now) but it wasn't anything I entered, it was the default for the program, and the correct file listing for the C: drive appears under the drive address bar, so I assume it is reading drive C: correctly. If I click on the directory tree icon on the far left a listing of drives appears in a pull-down window. I chose A: just to see what it would do, with nothing in that drive, and the A: drive made the usual noise as if it were looking for a disk, but when I chose F: (the one with the removeable disk attached) it does not produce a listing of F: drive files. I know the flash card is there because it appears with its files in Windows Explorer. I beleive it did show F: as the specified drive in the top bar, but with C: drive files and folders still listed underneath it. Refresh did not alter the C: file listing. Also double clicking on a C: drive folder that was listed does not open the contents of that folder. It is basically a problem of the local drive's content list not being able to be refreshed or accessed in any way. I am just stuck with the C: drive file and folder list as it first appears on starting the program. I'll check the forward/back slash issue as soon as I get home.

Thanks,

Casey
