Unable to connect to server

Post by philipj »

Greetings.
website activity I am completely new to this and have downloaded the
Core FTP LE (free version) and am now trying to upload the files of our walking club to our first website.
Upon trying to 'Connect' I get the message :
Can't establish connection --> ftp.core.com 22 @ Sat Apl 14 etc

On the Connect page, I have the following settings

ftp.core.com
username and password given to us by our host (bigpondhosting.com)
port 22
AuthSSL , SSL Listings, SSL Transfers are all checked
PASV and SSH/SFTP are not checked
use Proxy is checked.
What am I not doing or doing wrong :?:

Greetings,
Thanks for the reply, I tried what was suggested but to no avail.
I changed the host to another Bigpond entry.
I tried again using port 21 and 'checking' the boxes of SSL, SSL Listings,
SSLTransfers and Open SSL

This time I get the "Can't establish connection ... etc"
and in addition, the phrase " The requested name is valid and was found in the database but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for. "
I am not sure if this is referring to my input or something else.

If I use the port 22 and SSH/SFTP with this 'new' host I only get the " Can't establish connection ... " message.

Regards, philipl

My apologies, of course I will tell you. I do not know what happened within Core but after contact with Bigpond they pointed out a small typing error that I had made.
