Can't see uploaded files

I'm using CoreFTP and I've been talking to the people who own the server and everything on their side seems to be set the way it should be. I can't see any of the files that are in the directory, but I can upload and when I upload them they are visible until I log out or if an upload is rejected they all go invisible. If I upload a file that already has that name I'm allowed to overwrite it so I do have the privileges. However, if it's a file that I set to world read it won't allow me to overwrite it or do anything with it. When that happens they all go invisible again. If someone could help me out that would be great, thanks.
