Uploading php File translates into non-ascii text

I just installed the COREFTP client on my new laptop. I just uploaded my first two files and both files are not being uploaded in ASCII text. They are being converted to some strange character set.

Help!

Fixed it somehow

Not sure what I did differently, but now it's working.
