Core FTP won't connect to geocities!!!

Post by dreamglobe »

hey guys . . .

I'm currently using the Free version of Core FTP. This time I'm having a problem connecting because it's claiming that I had the wrong password when I had it right. I tried to login to geocities with the same user name and password and it works, i don't know why it's not working with the FTP. It was working earlier and yesterday . . . all with the same password and username from my host.

please somebody help!

BTW . . . I downloaded the new version, it didn't do anything!

It keeps on retrying to connect. I've changed my password in geocities to see if it works . . . nothing really happened. I'm pretty sure it's not invalid, I could log on with the same user name and password through Geocities . . . why won't it all the sudden work w/ core FTP?

If it's not that reason, it has to be the password or user id. Does the userId require your mail address or anything, like: user@yahoo.ca or something?
actually it didn't need any premium plans or anything . . . it even says on the main page how to set up my FTP for it. it did work a few hours ago, in one of the attempts, and now it fails everytime i try again. i'm not sure what the problem is . . . must be on the Geocities. it just sux that my connection is now drawn by luck! does anyone have a clue on this?

Problem with geocities

Post by kevinu »

After 4 days of whining to my I S P and a refund for a service that was inclusive in my monthly broadband subs, the lady who I spoke to suggested that a hypen is put in front of my pass word I use to log into geocities. And what do ya know it works, so core ftp lite is working as it should now
