Can't Retrieve Directory

Post by Fahad_H »

I've been using Core FTP Lite with no problems, but when I moved to a new internet network, it was no longer working. The message I get is " Can't retrieve directory"

Please advice.

I also could not retrieve directories although I could log on see the list of directories.

My problem was that my router had failed and I purchased a new one. It worked fine until I tried some ftp sites and I found that I could no longer retrieve directories. My error log file of the new d-link extreme n router showed that it was blocking tcp on these sites I was using ftp with.

I disabled that firewall on the router and now can use ftp as before.

So check your error logs and look for blocked traffic.
