When I try to connect, the username is accepted, but I get an error message from the site after it checks the password:
530 Login incorrect.
I checked the password and can check in to the site OK with it. The host support folks can connect via their ftp program OK. Any thoughts? Dick

The problem was the login URL. I can reach the website with either X.com or X.org, but only the X.org will work for the ftp program. I was fooled because the ftp site accepted the user name but not the password. Thanks, Dick
