URL/DNS Problem

Post by MikeTMB »

I'm using Gene6FTp Server running on Wndows XP Pro with a proxy for Internet access for the internal network. Also have Zone Alarm installed and using No-IP for IP to URL resolution.

When I use a IP address I can succesfully connect to our FTP server with no problems. If I use the URL then it says "resolving {hostname}" and fails to connect. The only way to get it to recognise the address is to tell it to use a proxy. With this I can connect but when the LIST command is issued it gives me a directory error. Anyone got any ideas?

Strangely it has just started working - either by my fiddling or just plain luck. If it was me I've no idea what it was I've done. Thanks for your help.
