Help-transferred files not downloading to local web

[mbeaudoin68]

Currently I transferred my remote directory files to my local directory files, however, when I refresh and then go to the site on my hard drive the downloaded files aren't there. I did get them to show up once yesterday but when I went to open the file of images (jpgs and gifs) I got an error message that said "can't determine type" from Microsoft Photo Editor.

Now I transfered images again but when I go to my local folder they aren't there. My session log is as follows:

This has never happened to me before so I am baffled.

Also, I noticed that the path for my site (C/documents and settings/Melissa/Misc stuff/My documents/My Webs/postapoochplus.com) is showing all my files in the path and that worries me. I tried creating a new path of (C/Desktop/Post-A-Pooch Plus/My Webs/postapoochplus.com) so I could delete the other paths listed and I deleted everything off my computer therefore I had to us the go back function.

All I want to do is download the images from my site and copy them to a CD so I can send them to my new webmaster and get the site up and running.

I hope some one can help me! I'v been transferring files using Core for the last 6mos with no problem so I'm thinking I'm just forgeting something or doing something stupid.

1.) C:\Desktop is not an actual directory unless you created it.
2.) If your site is entirely static (HTM/HTML) your new webmaster should be able to get the contents of the site without having it transferred directly by you.

Either way, try browsing to your desktop (rather than typing it in), create a new folder, and then try downloading your files...see if that works.

Thanks for the reply I will try that. I am a novice so I don't understand a lot of the terminology used but I don't think my site is strictly static because there is php, htm, html and formail on it. (Hopefully I didn't just make myself sound really stupid).

Now that I'm reading your reply I realize C:\Desktop isn't an actual directory. Thanks! Sometimes it just helps to have someone else to look at it for me.

I did call the webmaster and ask him to just transfer the files himself and he did and it was sucessful.
