Multiple Bugs in 1.3c build 1437 and request

Hi,

Could the developers please take note of the following bugs in build 1437:

1. Text garbled/overrun together as show in the following image:



This message box is also not properly expanded to display all the options.

2. After using the mouse to manually expand the message box in 1., I still get the text overrun bug as shown here:



3. Another example of display element being cut off:



4. I cannot click directly on the radio buttons OR check boxes to select a particular option but need to click slightly right of the actual button/box in order to select the option. In the following image example, I have to click at the location of the Red arrow instead of the Green arrow:



5. Not sure if this is a bug, but I don't seem to be able to select a non-proportional font for the 'topmost' pane (where the commands to and from the server are displayed) but am only presented with proportional fonts like Courier etc.

6. CoreFTP crashes after I attempt to start a new session to a site after completing a session to the same site. It takes several attempts of relaunching the program (after each crash) before it can 'take hold' and start a proper transfer.

I suspect that some of the above display bugs are caused by CoreFTP not being able to handle Large DPI settings in high resolution. I'm running Windows at 120 DPI at 1280x1024.

Feature request:

1. Could you add a Minimize and "Minimise instead of close" to tray option?

What command line are you currently using when you see these GUI issues (for the progress dialog)? Does resizing the progress dialog help at all?

There is a minimize to tray option in the system menu (upper left corner, click on Core FTP icon).

For the progress bar in problem #3, try right clicking on the transfer manager, select font. Does changing the font help this problem?

The graphic detail of the problems is appreciated - hope we can get to the bottom of these GUI issues!

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town. To answer the above:

1. I was not using CoreFTP from commandline. I'm running from the usual Start Menu.

2. Resizing does not help in any way - I believe this is due to the nature of the bug - the interface was not written to cater for large DPI.

3. Changing the font in this case does not help either.

4. I've since stopped using CoreFTP for the time being due to it always crashing when attempting to resume a "badly-terminated" previous session. Is there a way for me to provide a log to aid you in debugging the program?

The resizing issues of the transfer dialog shouldn't be a problem. I'll take a look at it more closely. Most of the machines I do work on are at 1280x1024 and I'm not seeing the issue, so it's likely font related, especially if you aren't seeing any issues in the file listings...

If you have a 'coredump.log' file in your \program files\coreftp\ directory, you can send that to support. It will contain valuable information about any crashes...

There's no coredump.log but only coreftp.log which logged all transfers. I've looked through the file carefully and it doesn't contain any indication of crashes or anomalies but only the usual transfer proceedings.

Thanks for confirming the DPI bug. Now if we can pin down the crash culprit...
