Using SFTP on a Cox Network (cox.net), I cannot get a login to a longstanding account.
However, when I take my laptop over to a different network (Arizona State University), and login using the exact same Core FTP LE Site that I set up, the login is successful.
So, naturally, I contacted Cox, and told them I suspect that there is a problem on the network. They retorted that their network is fine --nothing wrong. They said I needed to "contact the software manufacturer." I told them that the Core FTP client is working fine; rather the problem seems to be isolated to the Cox Network. Evidence of this is the fact that the same computer, using the same software, using the same login settings, on a different network, works just fine.
I checked for blocked ports (Port 22), and none seem to be the cause.
Ideas? Desperate at this point.
Cannot login using SFTP from Cox network
Absolutely correct!
I tried your suggestion -- bypassed the router and connected directly to the modem and, voila!, the connection began working!
So, I called Cox back -- since they were the ones that initially set up the router configuration -- and let them know, next time, not to be so hasty about blaming the software.
Hope this solution helps others along the way ....
