Decrypt the text file

Post by parry »

This is my first time using the FTP Pro. I liked the functionality that it has.

I am trying to get familiar with the Encryption and Decryption of the file. I transfered the small text file (970KB) from one of the server to my laptop. I used the blowfish cypher with the password but no keys.

The questions I have:
1. Does the password for encryption and decryption be same.
2. Once I transfered the file, it says it was successful but when I go to the folder where I capoied the file, the file size is 0 (zero). Do I need to decrypt the file inorder to see the correct file size.
3. How do I decrypt the text file.

Any help you can provide is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Parry

Thanks for your reply CP. The problem now is when I transfer the encrypted file to the server, it creates a new temp file something like 81.tmp which has the same file size as the original but different name.

So let's say if I transfer names.txt file, this file on the receiving server has now 0 bytes but the decrypted temp file (81.tmp) has the correct size. As it renames the original file, I can't use this. I was wondering if the software (after transferring the file) keeps the same file name.

Thanks for your time.
