Hi I'm new to this forum but have been using Core FTP for about 6 years and have just updated it but I don't know whether that is the problem or not. I run a website for a swimming club and when we run an Open competition we have electronic entries using a program from Sportsys.co.uk. Our competition secretary sends me a .sef file(from her new laptop running Windows which I upload to Core FTP using my desktop running Vista. When someone from another club wants to send entries they download SportSystems entry manager from our website and the .sef file which they then import into the entry manager. On some PC's when the .sef file is clicked the file opens showing a whole load of code, this is not supposed to happen, it should open a download window. I have been told it could be my upload (I use Auto mode but I've tried asciii and binary) or Windows 8 settings.

I've since been told this may be a MIME issue - is there a way around that? Or that I could try zipping the file - I suppose I would have to add some text for people who want to dowload it.
I have zipped the file and it seems to work OK now (in IE at least - it was working in Mozilla Firefox and Opera before, I have been told).
