Importing configuration file

Post by dcil »

My users can't import a pre-configured coreftp site file that I exported from site manager. The import feature doesn't work when the user ( no admin rights) is logged in, but works when an admin is logged in. BUT the user needs to be logged in because the coreftp site settings are profile based! I also attempted to use the coreftp -importglobal switch with the admin account, stating that it would set the sites for ALL users, but it doesn't work either.

Is this a permissions issue? Ideally I would like to import the site and have it available for everyone logging onto athe desktop, but does that mean user account password is shared w/ everyone too? Or will everyone be able to enter in their own user account info but with the sites pre-configured?

Import Sites

Post by dcil »

Thanks CP for the quick response!

I can create new sites w/i site manager as a non-admin user, but still cannot import a file. I saw your suggestion to use the file storage option, but I'm trying to automate everything at install w/o touching the app at all. I am actually importing the site config file with a batch script that is run after the install completes. Using the -importglobal swich kind of worked, it added duplicates in the site manager though. Plus, how are you able to delete a site or modify it, if the site changes? -importglobal was suppose to be "locked down" right?

Thanks again for all your help!
