Afraid I am having big trouble uploading an updated page on my website. When I try to transfer the updated page (a document created in Front Page with a .HTM extension) all that happens is that the transfer doesn't complete but the destination file is wiped clear. The website is www.rookerycottages.com and it is the availability page that needs to be updated regularly. I tried to see if I could update the visitors comments page but exactly the same thing happnened there and the page disappeared. The transfer starts each time but it only gets 9% of the way through, then waits around, then it "fails". The read out in the top panel is as follows. I would be very grateful for help fixing this.
DTM availability.htm
213 20050607214135
TYPE A
200 Type set to A
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (212,84,175,70,153,90).
STOR availability.htm
Connect socket #3852 to 212.84.175.70, port 39258...
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for availability.htm
Help needed - cannot upload my files
Thanks again CP. Tried what you suggested. The server (I use a commercial service and my contract gets me far more space / capacity than my website uses) is set to connection with Send at 512 and Receive at 4096. Should I change either of those ? I tried changing send to 1024 but still no joy. The same problem each time is immediately 9% of the bytes get sent but no more after that.
One other thing I notice is the "permissions" listed for the files I am trying to overwrite (basically the blank pages) show -rw-rw-r-- whereas all the other files show -rw-r--r-- . I haven't a clue what that lot means, but could it indicate a problem ?
