filename issue

Just dowloaded and started to use Core FTP Lite

Super!

Everything works fine except

I have some files (from KDE Mail Folder) that are named, I must admit

in a strange fashion

Here is an example of one filename:

1086197184.6806.3QaY:2,S

I can see the name in the directory, CoreFTP Lite attempts the transfer but the log window indicates the file transfer failed

If I click on the filename and choose dowload as abc

the transfer works perfectly.

So this surely as to do with the strange naming but since those files are within folders, and they are quite numerous (archived messages) would there be any setting that would workaround this problem?

I tried (using the right click in the log window) to select all (I had one entry) but there is no copy item in menu nor a copy to buffer. So I used properties and here is the info

On my Linux computer I am using ProFTPD and I connect with CoreFTP Lite to that computer.

Your program cannot be everything for everyone!

For transferring files between my two boxes This is my main task: excellent.

Trying to backup from one to another brings such inconsistencies such as I found described on the rdiff-backup web site, which describes these limitations:

This compensates for some windows file systems' inability to store hard links, symlinks, device files, sockets, fifos, case sensitive filenames, and filenames with colons (":") in them.

The remark about case sensitive is outdated but I did try a transfer of a folder with symbolic links which did not end up in a duplicate of the original directory

So it is not worth trying to fix something which does not need to be fixed ...

Keep on the good work and don't worry about me using a good tool for the wrong task
