difficulty connecting for first time

Hi I am trying to use yoru coreftp site for the first time and seem to be having difficulties.
I get this message.
Requested name is valid and found in the database. but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for.

What do they mean by associated data? I have just tried as annoymous to begin with as your online help aids have mentioned but still gets this message.

Can anyone help?

I encoutered the message when I was making some changes on my FTP server, and mistakenly deleted the directory to which the account pointed to. The error message was exactly as you received. This message is generated by the server. This may or may not be the same reason for your error though.

Is this the first time that you have used the FTP account on the server? Have you tried accessing the account using another client, or the command-line FTP client provided with Windows? This would verify whether the account is working or not.

To access the Windows FTP client as a test :
(do not type any of the quotes below)

Click on "Start", then click "Run"
Type "FTP" in the "Open :" box, and click OK
An FTP window will open
Type "open server" where server is the server name
You will be prompted for the username then password
Check if you get the same error message
Type "bye" to exit FTP

I'm a new user to Core FTP, and I'm getting the same error when connecting using the "Site Manager" connect method. However, when I connect using the "Quick Connect" window I connect successfully. I've verified that the key entries (FTP hostname, User name and User password) are the same in both screens, and I've left all other fields with the defaults.

Could there be some configuration difference between the Site Manager connect and the Quick Connect defaults that would explain the inability to connect using the Site Manager screen?
