scheduled task not starting

I have created a task and MS scheduler is running. I can run the task manually but it does not start at time scheduled. What can I do to troubleshoot this?

I had seen this doc previously and I think I have done the things required. One questions is the name and password. I did enter my Windows2000 login and password and updated the task and exited the sceduler but review of the task after shows these fields blank. The sceduler does not error at all it just does not start the task.
